The Weaving Way: an online book discussion
To coincide with the launch of her new book, Kate Kilmurray welcomes members of the Textile Arts LA community to join her for a special online event to celebrate the way handweaving is a central part of women's lives; recording and reflecting not only the everyday, but also the significant and transformative moments which shape us.

An Indigenous Present: Indigeneity in Made in L.A. 2023
Celebrating the launch of the new book An Indigenous Present, conceived by artist Jeffrey Gibson, this panel takes a closer look at Made in L.A. 2023: Acts of Living from the perspective of Indigenous intersectionality. Made in L.A. artists Teresa Baker, Melissa Cody, Ishi Glinsky, and Esteban Ramón Pérez join Gibson and curator Pablo José Ramírez in this conversation on indigeneity through a larger understanding of native land, diasporic and queer histories, mestizaje, and ideas of ancestry.
Suchitra Mattai: In the absence of power. In the presence of love.
Roberts Projects is pleased to present the gallery’s first exhibition with artist Suchitra Mattai, In the absence of power, In the presence of love. The show presents new mixed-media paintings, tapestries, and a soft-sculpture installation that evoke the artist’s Indo-Caribbean heritage. Mattai’s work engages with the subject and form of European pastoral landscapes and figuration as well as Indian miniature paintings.
