Strange Science
Step beyond the gates of the Huntington and join us for a night of gothic grandeur with mysterious tales, dark trivia, and live performances.
Fashion historian and TALA member Kimberly Chrisman-Campbell will examine the history of mourning attire from the chic court of Marie-Antoinette to well-dressed widows Queen Victoria and Arabella Huntington. Each presentation will be followed by a signing of Fashion Victims: Dress at the Court of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette.

Living Threads: Ancestral Textile Knowledge from the Peruvian Andes
Exploring Indigenous knowledge and material heritage, Living Threads will feature three master weavers from the community of San Miguel de Cajamarca in Peru. The program will highlight the ancestral textile traditions of the northern Andes, emphasizing the essential role of women in preserving, transmitting, and evolving cultural heritage through the art of weaving. Join the Fowler for an afternoon of conversation, live weaving demonstration, a community weaving workshop, and a trunk show.

Textile Council Sale
This annual fundraiser for the Fowler offers a curated selection of textiles, jewelry, baskets, clothing, home décor, and more from around the world. Proceeds from the sale support the Fowler’s textile acquisitions, exhibitions, and publications.
