Artist as Quiltmaker XVIII at the Firelands Association for the Visual Arts
Artist as Quiltmaker XVIII opens on May 13th at the Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (Oberlin, OH). This is the 18th Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Quilts that FAVA has held, and is the second longest running art quilt exhibition in the world. Exhibition runs from May 13 - July 28, 2018.
This year's exhibition features 32 artists across North America, selected from over 300 entries. Both established and emerging artists submitted innovative work that pushes the boundaries of what "quilt" means, using both traditional and non-traditional techniques and materials.
The juror for 2018 was Emily Zilber, who is The Ronald C. and Anita L. Wornick Curator of Contemporary Decorative Arts at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
