The through-line, the subplot, the red thread.

This is what it’s all about - actually being part of something,
not just wilting on the fringes.

Our programs

Art gallery interior with colorful abstract and mixed-media artworks on white walls, featuring painted sculptures, a vibrant portrait, a textile piece, and an installation with clothing.

Exhibits

We research, promote, and curate exhibits from both members and the public. So let’s get out of the house, get together, get drinks, and get lost in some artwork.

A speaker presents at a conference with a large screen displaying a slide about Textile Hive, mentioning Andrea Aranow and Caleb Sayan. The slide includes information about digital archives, events, tours, and textile news. An audience is seated, watching the presentation in a modern conference room setting.

Talks

Our flagship offering is Textile Slam, a seminar-style event. We strive to provide informal lectures and an affirming community. In addition, we attend and promote other educational opportunities.

Workshops

A chance to get your hands dirty. These events are for those of us who had to try it ourselves to learn the lesson (It’s a miracle we made it).

What is Textile Slam! ?

Textile Slam! is an opportunity for friendly conversation and networking, featuring a rotating slate of presenters, each of whom will deliver an informal six-minute (or less) presentations to share insights into their work, process and intentions.

We envision the Slam! as an opportunity to see friendly faces and hear from the artists and creatives in our community.

Artists share quick insights into their work, process, and intentions. Slam! is an informal, community-oriented opportunity to be impressed or intrigued, to see something new or to celebrate the work of familiar friends.

Members, artists, designers, architects, educators, and all-around neat thinkers talk about their work, ideas that interest them, or projects they are exploring.
