Pine Needle Basketry Workshop

Learn the historic craft of pine needle basketry from multidisciplinary artist Eliot Spaulding.
Create your own small basket using a sewing needle, waxed thread, and local Ojai pine needles. We will be learning the spiral stitch, and the universal weaving technique of "coiling", which can later be applied to many other materials!
You will gain confidence in a new skill, along with a pouch of tools and supplies to continue your work at home, and a bundle of local pine needles collected by Eliot. We will also cover foraging and material prep tips and techniques.

All skill levels are welcome, Ages 16+

All tools and supplies will be provided

8 minimum - 12 maximum students

Please pack a lunch for our 30-minute break, and bring a sun hat / sunscreen as we may be working outside if weather permits
