William Turner Gallery is pleased to announce an upcoming solo exhibition, Longing & Belonging, featuring work by the artist Guillermo Bert -- marking the gallery's first presentation of his work.
Guillermo Bert is known for his multimedia artworks that merge traditional Indigenous art forms with contemporary technologies to explore themes of identity, migration, and cultural communication. Born in Santiago, Chile, and based in Los Angeles, he often collaborates with Indigenous artisans and uses materials like woven textiles, wood, and digital media to create layered, story-driven pieces. Through a blending of traditional craft and modern innovation, Bert's work examines how technology can serve as both a bridge and a barrier in the transmission of culture and history.
