Eye Dazzlers: Marvels of Navajo Weaving from the Hilbert Collection

  • Hilbert Museum 167 North Atchison Street Orange, CA, 92866 United States (map)

These “eye dazzler” blankets woven by Navajo women in the late 1800s and early 1900s were known for their vibrant colors, intricate patterns and bold, geometric forms – many of which seem to anticipate the work of later color-field artists and modernist painters. Curated by Mary Platt.
