Blooming Threads, Soviet Flower Symbolism In Cross Stitch

  • Craftication at Ventura Beach Marriott 2055 East Harbor Boulevard Ventura, CA, 93001 United States (map)

TALA member Folk Lounge is presenting a cross stitch workshop during Craftcation, a 5-day conference for creatives held in Ventura.
(Requires registration for entire event).

Explore the rich tradition of floral cross stitch in Soviet and Russian culture, focusing particularly on roses and flowers as symbols of transformation and potential.

Through hands-on cross stitch techniques, participants will create their own floral embroidery pieces while discussing how these natural symbols transcend cultural boundaries yet carry specific cultural meanings about transformation and becoming.

Craftcation is a five-day gathering in Ventura for makers, artists, and small business owners—bringing together craft workshops, business sessions, and community in one of the rare spaces that holds the full spectrum of what it means to be a working creative.
