California Fibers: Tactile Thinking

  • Hyde Art Gallery, Grossmont College 8800 Grossmont College Drive El Cajon, California, 92020 United States (map)

Featuring the work of fourteen members of California Fibers, this exhibition explores how artists express tactile thinking through the medium of textiles. Thinking doesn’t happen only in the mind. For these artists, ideas take shape through the hands - in the pull of a thread, the tension of a weave, the layering of surfaces, and the slow, repeated gestures of making. Each work holds a record of that process, inviting viewers to consider touch as a way of understanding and responding to the world.

Exhibition juried by Alex DeCosta.
