Bookshop: An Indie Alternative to Amazon

I’m a firm believer in supporting small business. And especially when it comes to buying books. It’s always seemed like a particular kind of sickness to buy books from Amazon, after they killed off all my favorite indie book stores. What heaven it was to spend an afternoon standing in the shelves of The Sisterhood Bookstore, or Dutton’s or the scores of other stores whose names have now been lost to [old] age.

An alternative has arrived: Bookshop. Also online, but connected to a growing cohort of local shops, and all sharing in the proceeds. Give them a look. Bezos doesn’t need any more of our money.
