Michael's tour date has been set! We’re sorry we couldn’t do a photo shoot at the Louvre to announce the new dates (if you’re hip to current events you’ll get that reference). Our behind-the-scenes tours are free to members and are a benefit to joining the organization. Non-members pay an administrative fee (aka fund the coffee and pastries). Michael's studio is in the Westlake Village / Thousand Oaks area.
Katherine Tucker of Desert Churros Roving Ranch has invited Textile Arts LA members to visit her working ranch on April 7! Noon to 2 pm ish or later. We will be served lunch, then spend time discussing the natural dyeing process and exploring her finished yarns.
Architect and artist Jeff Morrical practices the Miura technique of paper folding to create fantastical structural and animalistic shapes. Join us at Jeff's workshop-home-quasi treehouse for a brief studio tour followed by a hands-on workshop to make your own tabletop or outdoor sculpture.
Ruth Katzenstein Souza is the creative force behind Mending as Metaphor. Join us as she opens her studio for an exclusive behind-the-scenes talk and exploration of the space that inspires her.
First in a series! As part of the benefit of joining we will be arranging semi-annual (or quarterly, we hope!) behind-the-scenes tours of working artists' studios. The intent will be part inspiration, part education, as we share private tours of creative spaces and explore questions of professional interest. Please View Event for more details.
