Weave Only Just Begun, an installation and performance by Kira Keck, will be on view from May 1 - May 31, with an opening on Saturday, May 12 from 6-9pm at ILGWU in Long Beach. RSVP and more details can be found here.
" Kira will inhabit the windows of the ILGWU, highlighting the laborious and solitary textile processes of her practice. Drawing from joyous excess of seventies aesthetics as well as the politics of the time, she creates textiles that appeal to the tactile and the optic. Kira will be embedded in an installation of her textile work, demonstrating how ideas flow between the loom and the embroidery hoop."
