The Textile Museum Associates of Southern California present Velvet, A Worldwide Passion: Handweaving Techniques of Uzbekistan, Turkey, India, Japan, China, Italy, France and England. This talk is on Saturday, May 5 beginning at 10am at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church on National Blvd. TMASC members are free, guest admission is only $10! Associate Professor Emeritus Barbara Setsu Pickett will discuss types of velvet weave, indigenous tools and equipment, and how different aesthetics shaped techniques and skills in different regions.
