Jonathas de Andrade: One to One exhibition
A recent article published in Hyperallergic featured Brazilian artist Jonathas de Andrade and his current exhibition, One to One, which is on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. His work evokes love, memory and sense of place through the use of photographs, installations and videos. The exhibition responds to the geography and culture surrounding Recife, the artist’s home and a city in the northeast region of Brazil.
One to One debuts three new works by de Andrade, including Jogos dirigidos (Directed games), a film commissioned by MCA that presents a playful exchange between members of the deaf community in the northeast of Brazil.
The exhibition will be on view through August 25, 2019 at MCA in Chicago.
