Derrick Adams: Transmission exhibition at MCA Denver

A powerful exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver closed this week, featuring sculptures, installations, and works on paper by American artist Derrick Adams. His ongoing study of racial identity, filtered through pop culture, is highlighted in the work on view for Transmission

His recent installation, On, was presented at the California African American Museum last year and was present in Transmission as well. His use of dashiki and kente cloth, along with other fabrics and materials, embed complex concepts of trade and place in his work.

More images and the Hyperallergic feature on this exhibition can be found here.
