ARTIST STATEMENT
My artistic practice is driven by scientific curiosity and a desire to explore the connections. Between human experience
and the non-human world. Through ceramics, textiles, and painting, I investigate themes of transformation,
imperfection, and the unseen forces that shape our lives. My studies of human behavior and perception guide my
observations on how we interpret and find meaning in our surroundings. Macro photography has significantly influenced
my perspective. It has taught me to slow down and appreciate the minute details and subtle textures that often go
unnoticed. This attention to the microcosm informs my work, where I seek to reveal the hidden beauty in
what is overlooked and ephemeral. The philosophy of wabi-sabi and the study of mycelium serve as both symbol and
guide in my practice. I see in mycelium a powerful metaphor for connection, memory, decomposition, and renewal. I am
drawn to what transforms and remains undefined. I'm continually seeking to create from a place of freedom, embracing
the beauty of the imperfect, the impermanent, and the ephemeral as intrinsic aspects of the world.
