To Do: A Mending Project

  • Museum of Contemporary Art 1001 Kettner Boulevard San Diego, CA, 92101 United States (map)

The Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego is hsoting the following. more info can be found on their website, here.

To Do · A Mending Project was conceived of by artists Michelle Montjoy, Anna O’Cain, and Siobhán Arnold, in response to the escalation of political, social, and economic tensions in the United States that have increased a sense of divisiveness within our culture.

These artists will organize and teach a series of workshops on topics ranging from traditional, domestic, and repair tasks to movement, breathing, and sound. While the act of repair is within their own artistic practices, they have also sought the support of their community, asking other artists, repairers, and activists to share their knowledge.

The Fayman Gallery will function as a relational space bringing together diverse individuals to demonstrate the potential of communication and collaboration as a political force. From June 20 to September 22, 2019, To Do · A Mending Project will hold free workshops focused on acts of repair.

This exhibition is on view at MCASD’s galleries at 1001 Kettner Blvd. Hours are 11 AM-5 PM Thursday through Sunday. Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
