OPEN CALL: Materiality & Method Exhibition

We’re thrilled to announce our first juried exhibition, which we’ll be hosting in conjunction with Materiality & Method and Textile Month in September 2019.

Textile Arts LA members are invited to submit work for Materiality and Method: a small works fiber exhibition, which will be shown at Daniella Carter’s architectural studio Pretty Smart in Long Beach, CA. Entries may be submitted online through July 15, 2019 and is FREE for all members to enter! This is a juried exhibition opportunity for Textile Arts LA members to showcase their works.

Prompt: Fiber is a fluid medium that allows artists to approach their work in many ways. This exhibition focuses on the intersection of process and material, and how every artist addresses these ideas in their work. We are looking for work using innovative methods that manipulates, re-imagines and transcends our understanding of material.

Event Dates: September 7, 2019 through October 6, 2019.
Opening reception date/time TBD.

Media: All forms of fiber art are welcome, including: surface design, basketry, weaving, paper, and assemblage. Must be small works that are no larger 24” x 24”.

Entry Deadline: July 15, 2019
