Barnsdall Art Park Foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to nurture Barnsdall Park as a dynamic and vibrant artistic, cultural, and recreational destination for Los Angeles and the world.
PATTERN BLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOP with carrie burckle
Saturday, May 12, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Students will learn the language of pattern repeat by applying a hand carved block, using textile inks on fabric. Students will then work with fashion designer Yoshimi Radstrom to sew and embroider their new textiles into totes, clutches, aprons, scarves, and more.
2018 WEAVING WORKSHOPS WITH ARTS GARAGE
Art of the Loom workshops are designed to explore the art and craft of weaving with an emphasis on materials and processes unique to this richly tactile medium.
All Art of the Loom workshops are taught by artist and educator Cameron Taylor-Brown on 4 shaft Wolf Pup floor looms in a fully equipped textile studio. Class size is limited to 5 students to allow for individualized instruction.
A MODERN MACRAME WORKSHOP with MAKERVILLE IN PALM DESERT
Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
In celebration of macrame, Australian fiber artist Bianca Barbaro will teach basic knots and guide students through the making of a decorative wall hanging.
