Join teaching artist JJ Jorgenson for a cozy, creative Stitch Your Own Sketchbook workshop, where you’ll learn how to bind your very own sketchbook using the beautiful Coptic stitch — a hand-binding technique that allows your pages to open and lay completely flat (perfect for drawing, painting, and mixed media work!). Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just getting started, this workshop is a wonderful way to slow down, learn a traditional craft, and create something both practical and meaningful.
In this hands-on class, you’ll:
Select from a variety of quality papers to customize your pages & create a custom cover!
Learn the step-by-step Coptic stitching method
Bind your book by hand
Design and create an original mixed media cover that reflects your personal style
No prior bookbinding experience is needed — just bring your creativity!
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind sketchbook ready to fill with ideas, experiments, and inspiration.
