Patchwork Mending with Vintage Japanese Fabrics

  • Nellita's Craft 248 1st Street Los Angeles, CA, 90012 United States (map)

Come learn about patchwork and visible mending techniques using vintage Japanese textiles provided by BORO BORO! This workshop will provide a brief intro to the history of Japanese mending and various stitching styles and techniques used for visible mending.
The second half of the workshop will be a block of time for students to work on patching, mending, or stitching their own items from home with a variety of vintage Japanese fabric scraps provided by us. All students will go home with a kit of sewing supplies and indigo patches to take home with them to continue on their mending journey!

The workshop will be hosted at Nellita's Craft, a neighborhood craft shop and makerspace in Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles. We're thrilled to have the chance to collaborate with another likeminded AAPI female owned business, and in such a great location!
