Local Roots, Personal Stories: A Mending Circle with Ruth Katzenstein Souza, Mending as Metaphor

  • studio 203 3440 Motor Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 90034 United States (map)

Artist, gleaner, mender Ruth Katzenstein Souza will guide us in a layered discussion-mending circle as we explore the stories in and of our clothing. Stories keep us alive and connected to who we are. Each of us has a closet full of stories, literal and metaphorical. We might not wear some of our clothing yet they hold memories and meaning. Perhaps they remind us of a person, a place, or a time. Or maybe they are infused with other meaning. Why is the story so important?
