Knot Together

  • Mingei International Museum 1439 El Prado San Diego, California, 92101 United States (map)

Learn to transform rope into a sculptural wall hanging. You’ll explore four foundational knots, building a rhythmic, colorful composition that celebrates the tactile beauty of fiber.

Inspired by the traditional fishing nets and nautical knots featured in To Catch a Fish, our newest Together workshop series, Knot Together, explores the art of macramé. The series is led by Sitoë Thiam, a fiber artist and mechanical engineer who bridges technical precision with organic expression. As the founder of Unknot, a design studio specializing in knotting and weaving, she brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the world of fiber arts.
