Block Printing Inspired by Mid-century Modern Designers

Taking inspiration from the bold, playful designs of midcentury icons Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman, this hands-on workshop with Los Angeles textile artist Carrie Burckle  invites you to explore the art of block printing on cloth. Learn how to design and carve simple geometric forms from insulation foam blocks, mix and layer colorful textile inks, and create dynamic compositions reminiscent of the Ackermans’ modernist aesthetic. 

Participants will experiment with pattern, color, and repetition to produce a series of custom-printed textiles—perfect for framing, sewing, or simply celebrating unique works of hand-crafted design. 

Workshop registration includes materials. Space is limited. Advance tickets are required.
