Hello Members and Friends in the San Fernando Valley, as loosely described — maybe this reaches up to Thousand Oaks (in the Conejo Valley) and across to Burbank, Glendale and thereabouts.
We thought we’d try a member + friend meet-up — serving a dual purpose of bringing programming “over the hill” and also hearing firsthand from our textile tribe what we can do to grow our community.
We realize traffic, timing, and affordability are all concerns. This will be our initial foray into engaging our members and friends throughout Southern California.
We invite you to join us Monday, March 16 - arrivals 6:30, start meeting 7, end at 8 — Coral Cafe closes at 8, so that will keep us on schedule!
THE PLAN: We’ll do a quick round of introductions, then discuss ideas for programming and frequency. EDIT (We have adapted the following since the initial post): We are looking forward to meeting you - or seeing familiar faces again - and learning how our ideas and plans stack up against what we learn from you Monday night. Our challenge, like yours, is time and resources. We are hopeful that we will find allies and volunteers in our efforts to share our programming across a broader swath of Southern California. We are grateful for your time and interest.
This is a no-host event vis a vis the Cafe, while the discussion itself will be led by Lesley Roberts and Eva Rabin, our new social media manager and SF Valley resident.
