(A)Dressing Our Hidden Truths Exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland

(A)Dressing Our Hidden Truths features work by Alison Lowry, on view through May 2020 at the National Museum of Ireland.

Lowry uses glass as her primary medium to comment on such discomforting topics as child abuse and domestic violence. Her pointed and effective comments on the political, social and emotional fallout from such events through the use of glass is what makes Lowry unique. The exhibition features an installation of suspended sand-cast christening robes, sculptural works responding to the theme of the Magdalene Laundries, a video piece made with performance artist Jayne Cherry, and a suit of armor using glass and leather (created with Una Burke).

More info and images of the exhibition can be found here.
