Korea Bojagi Forum in Seoul

The Korea Bojagi Forum, founded in 2012 by Chunghie Lee, is a biennial conference celebrating the Korean tradition of the wrapping cloth as a continuing source of inspiration for contemporary fiber art.

There will be a number of exhibitions at this conference, including:

  • Traditional Bojagis by Korean Artists

  • 10 + 10, Korean and Danish Artists’ Bojagi Inspired Works Curated by Lasse Antonsen & Chunghie Lee

  • Bojagi Inspired Wearables Curated by Moon-he Baik

  • Bojagi Inspired Miniature Competition Coordinated by Anna Maria Orban

  • Seoul/New York Curated by Youngsoon Cha & Patricia Malarcher (to be confirmed)

There is also a KBF 2020 Call for Art! The Korea Bojagi Forum 2020 is seeking reinterpretations of bojagi that test its boundaries and go beyond. Accepted entries will be featured in the Forum exhibitions and documented in a full- color catalog.

This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and over working in the field of fiber art. All work submitted must be original, completed in the last three years and not previously exhibited in the KBF exhibitions.

Work Categories: Works are sought for the following three categories: Interior or Exterior Non wearable, Bojagi Inspired Wearables based on the Hanbok traditional dress, and Bojagi Inspired Miniatures.
