Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum recognizes excellence, innovation and achievement in American design by honoring designers in ten jury-selected categories. The National Design Awards were launched at the White House in 2000 as an official project of the White House Millennium Council. This annual Awards program celebrates design as a vital tool that is shaping the world, and hopes to increase national awareness of the impact design has in our society.
