Common Threads Exhibition at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Common Threads: Stories Across Time features work of many contemporary artists redefining textile art. This hand-selected group of artists pushes the boundaries, creating textile work in new mediums, including music, video and participatory art. On view through January 13, 2019.

Contemporary textile work is paired with the Museum’s collection, including a set of sixteenth-century Flemish tapestries. This immersive encounter with textiles extends across the Museum and into the Hostetter Gallery in the New Wing, featuring the contemporary work in alignment with the tapestry collection.
