Textiles from Recycled Plastic

The NY Times wrote up Stella McCartney's latest collection . . . and it's made from plastic.

"The newest luxury material to hit high-fashion rails has nothing to do with centuries of artisanal tradition or rare and exotic animals, and everything to do with ... garbage."

Ms. McCartney has announced that her brand is entering into a long-term partnership with Parley for the Oceans. One of the group’s biggest initiatives is the creation of a yarn fiber made from plastic objects such as fishing nets, debris and bottles that are collected from oceans.
